I think I want to write about the privacy. The previous topic about the privacy has the biggest impression in my mind. People like to watch TV series through the Internet, shopping on the Internet, and even work through the Internet. Internet has become one of unavoidable part in our lives. Therefore, the privacy is becoming more and more dangerous. Whatever you did on the Internet, there must be leave some tracks. People who had bad ideas will us these track to do bad things to hurt or earn money. I think we should pay attention to this problems. Whether use the Internet to meet friends is good or not.

Cell phone is one of media that we us every day, even every minute. Young people like to use the chat tools on the cell phone to talk with each other. Nowadays, with the quick development of this society, people can see each other through the cell phone. This is a new tendency that people prefer to chat with each other. More and more apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Wechat. You can talk with others, post photographs and make new friends from different places and countries. Cell phone or maybe the Internet has the magic way to connect us into several minutes. For me, I like to use cell phone to do everything. I like to chat with my friends through the apps in my cell phone. I also like to upload pictures to show to my friends. They can have the chance to give comments. Through the tools on my cell phone, I even can sent emails quickly and know the latest events in the world quickly. I think cell phone and Internet work together can make our lives better.

Reflection about Essay 3

For the beginning of this article, it introduce the background of this author: S. Craig Watkins. He was doing a research about the dynamics of online spaces. In the next paragraph, the author talked about the young people like to use network to have communication with each other. In the eighth paragraph, it talks about that “women use social-network sites more frequently than men.” The reason why women like to use the social-network sites is that girls are more likely to talk about all kinds of things on the Internet. For example, when I saw something interesting online, I will posted in my social-network sites and @ my friends to read them. I like to share these funny events and news together. We like to have communication through this way. When we have the face meet next time, we even will discuss these events and news together. In Chinese opinion, we think that men should work hard to support families and women should stay at home to take care of children and do the housework. From this perspective, we can know that the women have more free time to use the social-network sites than men. Nowadays, Internet has become the most important part in our daily life. Some of people even think that they cannot live without Internet. More and more people like to use the Internet to finish everything instead of going outside.  

Second, later in the ninth paragraph, it talks about that “ students  whose parents have less than a high school degree are significantly less likely to be on Facebook and are significantly more likely to be MySpace users. “ The author think that it should rely on the young people’s engagement with social-network sites. However, none of researches can answer the influence of social-networking sites on young people.  In addition, young people like to describe the Facebook positively. However, the words to describe the MySpace is strikingly hostile such as creepy, crowded and so on. I think this is fit the pervious opinions the author talked that high educated young people like to use Facebook instead of MySpace. I think more high-educated people like to use the Facebook which can make a positive and polite atmosphere. On the contrast, low-educated people like to use the MySpace to express their thoughts which means they created another kind of atmosphere. I think maybe this is the reason why high educated young people like to use the Facebook.

Last, I really like the sentence “Social and mobile media may be changing how we connect, but as we move into the digital future, it does not appear to be significantly altering who we connect to.” No matter how the world change, the person who we connect is the same. 

Privacy

When I first saw the word “Privacy” in the title of the article, the first thing come in my mind is lost. This is a fast developing society, everything developed so quick. You cannot stop it, so the consequence is that we are leaking our personal information from time to time. When you go to a clothes shop to buy something, the shop assistant will give you a name card, or even ask you to give your personal information to become the member in that shop. Therefore, I can get a lot of emails from different shops. Every day, I need to delete the advertisements emails and try to find the useful emails from them. Maybe for the first time, I think it is fine to do such thing. However, for every day, this bothers me.

Nowadays, more and more websites require you to sign in with your email address. Furthermore, you are free to register and use the websites with your personal information. Privacy is leaking from everywhere. This feel is just like that you are sold by others to make other products. This is horrible.

When I write the essay 2, I think it is hard for me to write the thesis statement. It just like stuck in my head. I do not know how to organize my thesis statement well. In addition, the topic sentence is also difficult for me to recognize.

Summary of "My Favorite Teacher"

“My Favorite Teacher” is a nonfiction story which written by Thomas L. Friedman. This story talks about Friedman’s favorite teacher who named Hattie M. Steinberg. In the beginning of the article, Friedman was thought of his most important person by the annual review on New York Times Magazine. Steinberg was Friedman’s high school journalism teacher. He took her course—Intro to Journalism in 10^th grade. Friedman thought she was good because of her belief. Steinberg believed that “the secret for success in life was getting the fundamentals right.”Steinberg taught her student how to make a high quality work quickly. In addition, the author also took her class in the 11^th grade. In this time, Friedman became a business manager to selling ad to the local pizza parlors. Later, he became one of Steinberg’s friends. After she died, the author and his friends were all think of her. Furthermore, Judy Harrington sent Friedman a pile of his stories written by Steinberg. For instance, Friedman could think of Steinberg and her classes a lot this year. The reason is that Steinberg’s belief—fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic, church and so on was the real secret of success in the information age. Friedman said Steinberg’s belief cannot be downloaded from the Internet and only can upload in the normal classes. At last, the author regretted he did not write his teacher when she was alive.

Stories about my teacher

After I read the article, I think of lots of my teachers. As a student, I have met lots of teachers during my school life. I think of my teacher in my high school. Her name is Miss Tao who is my head teacher. She took charge of our class from the 11^th grade to the end of my high school. In the beginning, we were all not like her because of her strictness. We heard about the bad and good news from senior students. For the first day of our school, we were not familiar with her. The first thing for the school was cleaning our classroom. She arranged us to clean the classroom separately. We did not pay attention to clean the classroom clearly. She was so angry to see we are lazy. She did not say a lot just ask us to clean again. We had to clean again. This time, one of my classmates fell down on the floor because of the wet ground. She immediately piggybacked the sick student to school clinic. Later, she cleaned the rest work. Then, we got the rewards due to the clean. Later, we started to have the military training. She was with us all day. When we stood under the sun, she also did. When we have a rest, she asked us to have some water. All of us changed our attitude to her.

After we started the semester, I did not catch up with my classmates. I was worried and sad at that time. However, she had a talk with me. She trusted me I can catch up with my classmates. She cheered me up. I totally changed my mind to her. I felt that she is a good teacher instead of a strict teacher. I even helped her to deal with problems between classmates. We became good friends later. Now, I miss her so much.

I think everyone have such a teacher who influenced them a lot. ^-^

My name is Ling Yang (Ann). I was born on June 12th, 1995. I have a brother who I is nine years older than me. This is my second year at University of San Francisco. I love to watch TV series, chat with my friends and travel. Every weekend, I will meet my friends that I have here to watch the TV series and play games with them. We have dinner together and share the funny things. This became the most interesting thing that I can do through the weekend. In addition, my favorite TV series is Korean TV series. Experience about blogs:

This is my first English blog. I had blogs before this one. I think I was not afraid of having blogs. Sometimes, this is good way for me to express myself to others and I could find friends on the Internet. I had the Chinese blog called “Ren Ren”, which looks like the Facebook. I wrote my feelings on my Chinese blogs to share that with my friends so that they can know what my life look like in San Francisco. They also gave comments under my blogs to encourage me. I think this is another way to have communication with them so that I feel they still live around with me. Furthermore, I also can share pictures that I took at here with them. I think I like to write online to share my life with others because it is convenient and fast. I don’t need to think about the grammar or vocabulary that I used. I can write anything what I want. Later, I also have the “Weibo”, which likes the Twitter. I can read more and share more things.
